So .. started work two ish weeks ago. It's been crazy, and hectic and really long hours. I got my quota done a little faster than expected which was good, but I've been working 14 hour days almost every day for the last two weeks, so take that as you will. I hope I can get that down to 60 hours a week otherwise I'm going to just die of sleep depravation or something. I dunno. I'm a workaholic.

All the date swapping and team swapping (and software swapping) means I can now work remote and don't have to move to Ottawa at all. While it would be nice to be in studio, make some more good friends and have instant feedback from teams leads it's a super huge relief to not have to go. It's also a really good excuse to splurge on that tablet PC I'm eying that just came out since the 21UX Cintiq's are outta stock online (and currently outta my price range, but a girl can dream )

Anyone know if Flash MX (like that horribly old version of Flash that Ugly is done in) works with Win 7? My google-fu on the subject is full of fail right now

Sooooo.... It looks like the "I'm moving outta Toronto " city will be Ottawa instead of Halifax. Much closer, much less stress. It's all arranged already. Got a place to stay til I can find an apartment, and my bus ticket bought. I will be leaving next Sunday (not this Sunday, the next one). I shall figure out some manner of celebration exeunt for the night before the night before. It'll be grand I'm sure.

So I got a job offer in Halifax. It's about 13 months job security, but in Halifax. Heard back that the company I was working for before probably won't have more work for a while, so it's looking a lot like Halifax here I come. There's some minor logistics to be worked out still. I have to say that I'm extremely excited and horrifyingly terrified. Hopefully when I get back to Toronto I'll have enough work experience and a strong enough reel to start going after the big fish here.
